Zovio Affiliate Marketing Manager in Chandler, Arizona

Position Summary:

The Affiliate Marketing Manager position is a full-time employment opportunity, located in Chandler, Arizona. The Affiliate Marketing Manager is responsible for managing, developing, and executing the interactive marketing strategy and efforts to support Student Acquisition campaigns. The Affiliate Marketing Manager will build and foster relationships with outside vendors to generate high-quality student inquiries for Zovio clients. This position is responsible for researching optimal vendor channels, recommending media plan modifications to senior marketing colleagues, negotiating efficient student acquisitions efforts, monitoring, optimizing and reporting on campaign success.

The Affiliate Marketing Manager needs to have the technical skills to understand the details of digital ad serving, affiliate marketing, and backend tracking plus the leadership skills to foster the growth of direct reports. The Affiliate Marketing Manager should know how publishers are monetizing their ad inventory and have the business acumen to negotiate deals to deliver audience segments efficiently and provide solid profitability across campaigns. The ability to utilize all branding and direct response tactics, understanding of behavioral predictive targeting and various pricing models (CPM, CPC, CPL, CPA, etc.) is essential.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Oversee all aspects of student acquisition marketing projects: scope, risk, schedule, budget, quality, and communication to stakeholders.

  • Determining which partners should be utilized based on the campaign goals, time frame, market, budget, and their ability to reach an audience with the desire to be a successful student.

  • Managing the student acquisition marketing budget and optimization.

  • Manages and developed direct reports

  • Using market research information, such as preferred media consumption, to understand and evaluate advertising opportunities

  • Collecting and organizing appropriate vendor contacts and evaluating the vendor’s campaign creative while developing long-term relationships to build successful partnerships.

  • Develop and execute online marketing strategies to increase lead conversion and lower cost per application metrics.

  • Manage direct link banner/display PPC campaigns. Ability to take large data sets and create meaningful and actionable insights.

  • Maintain and on-board partners. Perform data analysis through custom reporting in Tableau, Google Analytics, and proprietary lead form system.

  • Negotiating pricing and purchase inventory primarily on a Cost Per Inquiry basis.

  • Organizing and creating documents, which summarize the details of how traffic is driven to and from partner’s website.

  • Processing and completing insertion orders, confirmation emails, contractual documents and ensuring these records are filed properly.

  • Revising and optimizing campaigns based on measurable results according to analytical support and data findings. This includes adding or removing partners, adjusting bids and budgets, shifting inventory from sizes, sites, or placements, etc. to increase performance based on goals.

Additional Job Duties (include but are not limited to):

  • Preparing weekly job summaries and finalizing monthly delivery, accounting, and performance reports.

  • Working with finance, completing accurate data documentation, reconciling, etc.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ years marketing experience; 2-4 years’ experience working within the Affiliate Marketing space

  • B2B or CPL media planning experience a must.

  • Strong knowledge of digital environment and high technical aptitude for learning and working within desktop and web-based applications (Windows, Microsoft Office, DSPs, Ad Exchanges)

  • General internet understanding including ability to calculate and analyze data based on standard digital advertising cost metrics (CPM, CPC, CPA, etc)

  • Strong analytical skills with strong desire and ability to work with large sets of numbers and data

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and multi-tasking ability

  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively under tight deadlines and working with a sense of urgency under pressure while remaining calm

  • Well-developed negotiation skills

  • Strong management skills, excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, competitive, and fun environment

  • Experience with inquiry management software and CRMs.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in related field: Advertising, Marketing or Communication

Education Requirements:

Work Environment: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to work in an office environment, and the noise level is usually moderate to loud.
