Zovio Director of Corporate Communications in Chandler, Arizona

The Director of Corporate Communications position is a full-time employment opportunity reporting into the Vice President, Corporate Communications. This role is an integral member of the Corporate Communications leadership team and will focus on the strategy, design and execution of employee communications and events, as well as oversee Zovio’s social media channels. As the point of contact for internal communications for Zovio, the leader will be directing and overseeing the timely development and dissemination of relevant, informative and critical communications across a variety of formats.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Provide strategic communications support, tied to organizational goals, to drive positive organizational change

  • Partner with HR, Facilities, Technology, and Operations teams to support their enterprise communication needs

  • Plan and execute employee events, including monthly town halls

  • Management of HotSpot, Zovio’s intranet

  • Create communications guidelines and policies, overseeing day-to-day operations and distribution of internal communications, including spearheading necessary approvals

  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency of messaging and effectiveness of all internal communications

Additional Job Duties (include but are not limited to):

  • Liaison with the Corporate Social Responsibility Team to help drive volunteer participation and desired results

  • Lead site-based crisis communications in conjunction with site leaders and HR

Minimum Requirements:

  • 7-10 years’ experience in Corporate Communications or related field with a focus on employee communications and social media management

  • Experience with multi-media storytelling

  • Background in producing communications effectiveness scorecards

  • Results-oriented and strategic planning expertise

  • Experience managing team

  • Experienced in event planning

  • Superior organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities

  • Committed to excellence in communications with a strong detail orientation

  • Writing and editing experience, including knowledge of AP Style

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Build strong teams, capable of delivering best-in-class communications to the organization

  • Works well with competing priorities, balancing business needs with stakeholder requests

  • Versatile in multi-media communications delivery and driving organizational dialogue

  • Takes ownership of the strategy and delivers on the goals on time

  • Experienced with Sharepoint, MS Teams, Zoom, Politemail, and PollEverywhere

Education:

  • BS or equivalent in Journalism, English, Business or associated degree

Education Requirements:

If a degree or education credit minimum is required for the position, all education must be conferred by a regionally accredited or approved nationally accredited institution. All candidates must provide proof of higher education (official transcripts) upon request.
