Zovio Manager of Financial Reporting in Chandler, Arizona
The Manager of Financial Reporting is a full-time employment opportunity, reporting to the AVP of Financial Reporting. The Financial Reporting team is a smaller team within the larger corporate accounting function. The Manager of Financial Reporting is primarily responsible for the Company’s SEC filings.
Essential Job Duties :
Take ownership of the annual Form 10-K’s and quarterly Form 10-Q’s preparation and filing process, as well as assist with certain other financial SEC filings (i.e. Form 8-K, Form S-8, etc.)
Assist with the Deloitte external auditors for the quarterly reviews and annual audit
Be a liaison to the corporate accounting functions, as well as with other departments as necessary (i.e. legal, HR, etc.)
Assist in preparing the ASC 718 stock compensation accounting and reporting
Provide research, analysis and memo documentation of technical accounting matters, as needed
Work on other annual reporting projects, such as the annual proxy
Assist with submission of regulatory and compliance audits, as needed
Prepare certain financial presentations to Management or the Audit Committee
Take ownership of the SOX 404 controls relating to the financial reporting functions
Enhance and automating accounting and reporting processes
Essential Skills :
Detail-oriented – Ownership of the SEC filings is our priority, so attention to detail is of utmost importance, leaving no tasks left undone
Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork - The Financial Reporting is a small team within the larger accounting team, so the ability to work well with others is a must
Proven leadership ability – Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong organization skills - Need to remain flexible with new ad hoc tasks, and be organized with multiple concurrent projects; be able to prioritize depending on deadlines or importance
Knowledge of education industry - The education industry is ever-changing, so the ability to understand the regulatory environment in which we operate is key
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
A minimum of 4 years of public accounting/industry experience required
Experience in public accounting and SEC reporting required
Knowledge of GAAP and SEC reporting requirements required
Experience with Workiva software is preferred
Knowledge of ASC 718 and option tracking software (Equity Edge) preferred
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
