Job Description:

The Paid Search Analyst position is a full-time on-site employment opportunity at our location in Chandler, Arizona. As a Paid Search Analyst, you will be part of an energetic and innovative company changing the way we educate, where roles and responsibilities evolve as we grow, and we learn from our students and the marketplace. The most critical responsibility is to expect and embrace change. The primary objective of this role is to drive new student acquisition.

The Paid Search Analyst, will work within the Paid Media Team to drive paid search initiatives within specific accounts for Zovio. They will manage efforts across multiple search engines within the parameters set forth by the Senior Director of Paid Media and the Paid Search Manager. They will develop and execute the paid search strategy and act as the subject matter expert when needed between Zovio departments and perform various other duties in facilitating the relationship with clients.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Manage a specific group of paid search accounts assigned by the Paid Search Manager

  • Continuous optimization (including bid adjustments and negative keyword expansion) and testing within each account to drive more efficient volume and quality traffic

  • Create compelling, quality search ad copy and extensions within both brand and compliance standards, utilizing paid search best practices

  • Become the resident expert on the degree programs you manage, using your knowledge to adjust marketing tactics and explore additional keyword opportunities

  • Meet or exceed lead and application goals within budget

  • Contribute to weekly and monthly reporting meetings and be ready to speak to the performance in your specific accounts as needed

Additional Job Duties (include but are not limited to):

  • Provide insights and performance notes to product team and university personnel when needed

  • Stay up to date on new features and platform changes in paid search, and evaluate the benefits of implementation

  • Collaborate with other team members to learn new search insights, discuss ad copy test results, what is/is not working, etc.

  • Evaluate paid search landing page performance, making recommendations for content improvement to increase quality scores and conversions

  • Continue to acquire foundational knowledge and understand best practices in paid search, expanding your skillset

  • Participate in strategy meetings and offer insights into ways to help improve paid search efficiency

Minimum Requirements:

  • 1 year hands-on experience managing paid search campaigns in an agency setting or as part of an internal team

  • Comfortable navigating and using Google Ads, Bing Ads, and editing tools

  • Experience using bid management tools such as Marin, Kenshoo, Search Ads 360, etc.

  • Thorough understanding of keyword match types and how to effectively manage them

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Intermediate to Advanced experience with Excel and PowerPoint

  • Experience with paid search for lead generation, preferably within the higher education vertical

  • Agency experience managing multiple client accounts


  • Google Ads certification required

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
