Product Marketing Manager

Position Summary:

The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing marketing plans based on a deep understanding of industry trends, customer insights, and competitive analysis. Reporting to the Vice President of Product Marketing, this position works with other marketing functional teams and operations leadership to plan and execute marketing strategies that drive customer success and deliver the expected business results. This includes guiding and implementing decisions on targeting, positioning, messaging and the go-to-market strategies.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Manage marketing programs that include defining target audiences, product positioning and requirements, points of differentiation and messaging.

  • Conduct research and analysis of data on markets, segments, and go-to-market for new product concepts and provide market intelligence to cross-functional teams and leadership.

  • Understand the competitive landscape--be an expert on our competition and how they are positioned.

  • Ensure all marketing communications are coordinated, support marketing plan objectives and are an effective expenditure of resources.

  • Develop and execute marketing plans that include digital, content and traditional marketing tactics.

  • Manage the development of student personas to help the organization understand the students’ needs, motivations and desired outcomes.

  • Develop a recurring review process to monitor and improve effectiveness and ROI of marketing programs and activities.

  • Engage in internal research to capture the voice of the customer (customer journey maps) and apply it to marketing & product development initiatives.

  • Manage and support internal and external survey projects.

  • Assist the online marketing team by providing operational, data and product marketing related support for segmentation, campaign optimization & lead management functions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years’ marketing related experience (product marketing, field marketing, digital marketing or marketing communications)

  • Experience and track record of success within large, complex organizations

  • Strong verbal, written, presentation and organizational skills

  • Proven ability to execute, track and report on integrated marketing plans and tactics

  • Experience in working with marketing automation tools/CRM systems

  • Experience in social, content and digital marketing tactics

  • Excellent presentation, writing, and editing skills

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Degree – in marketing or equivalent

  • MBA or post-secondary degree in marketing field preferred
