Zovio Senior Director, Financial Planning & Analysis in Chandler, Arizona

Position Summary:

The Senior Director, Financial Planning & Analysis, is a full-time, senior finance position charged with developing enterprise capability to “see ahead” and accurately and timely forecast the future. Reporting to the Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis, this role will build our analytical capability and be a trusted business partner to the executive leadership team. This role has high visibility across the organization while molding the finance organization to be data-driven and committed to meaningful data visualization. Essential Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all short and long-term financial forecasting (P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow) while guiding the organization to evaluate the economic implications of new initiatives and investments, driving best-in-class FP&A process and systems enhancements

  • Lead a team responsible for delivering timely and accurate financial planning and forecasting across the enterprise, while actively supporting business functions to build their financial planning capabilities

  • Provide financial modeling and analysis to support organizational decision making

  • Be a thought leader and partner in driving data-driven decisions that support the Company’s financial performance

  • Interface with functional leaders to ensure spending aligns with budgets while driving cost savings initiatives

  • Lead the planning and rolling forecasting process on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis

  • Manage the annual budgeting and forecasting process for the Company

  • Drive the month-end internal reporting process

  • Provide in-depth analysis of financial results and develop insights around variances to be used with executive leadership

  • Interpret financial data and translate information to facilitate action and understanding of metrics to non-finance leaders

  • Participate in the development of board and executive management presentations and reporting

  • Assess ongoing FP&A processes and tools to support continuous improvement and automation

Preferred Experience:

  • 8-10+ years of experience in financial planning and analytics, reporting and analysis roles

  • Career reflecting progressive movement into senior finance leadership roles

  • Large multi-divisional public companies, including support of investor facing information

  • Experience scaling high-growth companies

  • Passion for understanding GAAP account and key non-GAAP metrics used by investors

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and comfortable working cross-functionally

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of ambiguity

  • Ability to make the complex simple; brings the right balance of process without being bureaucratic

  • Proven track record of leading, motivating, and developing a high-performing finance team

  • Strong technical abilities with advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • Knowledge and experience using Hyperion

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field - MBA or CPA preferred
