Zovio Talent Assessment & Development Specialist in Chandler, Arizona

The Talent Assessment & Development Specialist (Enrollment) position is a highly effective manager role that is responsible for supporting the workforce needs of the Operations team. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Operations Development, this individual is at the forefront of our vision; focused on identifying talent that is highly engaged and committed to supporting students from enrollment through graduation, in our pursuit to help learners be in a class of their own.

The Talent Assessment & Development Specialist will build organizational capability and expertise in strong talent assessment skills, and will be responsible for all aspects of selection of talent for the Enrollment team: identifying opportunities, planning, organizing, and implementing strategies to grow Zovio’s employee-base with individuals who are passionate about education and highly engaged in roles that best suit their skills. Achievement of a strong quality of hire is critical to the success of this position, so we’re looking for a highly motivated and influential leader who thrives on not only reaching their goals but surpassing them. The Manager of Talent Assessment & Development will effectively build and maintain relationships with decision makers and partners across Zovio and have a strong understanding of the skills and abilities necessary to be a bold and succesful Zovion.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage quality and structure of the internal interview & screening processes for all Enrollment-based Operations roles

  • Build and maintain a strong relationship with Enrollment leadership to understand needs for the role, identifying which competencies lead to success and developing a standardized interview template that focuses on these competencies

  • Oversee interview scheduling strategy and administration

  • Participate in interview & selection of enrollment talent

  • Assess interviewing leaders’ talent assessment skills, identifying areas of strength and opportunity, and building development solutions to upskill abilities in this area

  • Establish baseline measurement for new hire attrition rates by stage, and partner with the People team, operations leaders and other partners to execute new programs to impact improvement of these baseline measurements

  • Becoming a specialist in talent assessment and a subject matter expert in the interviewing process

  • Accountability to meeting all hiring objectives in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, including the quality of hire, time to fill, and minimizing attrition through the new hire period

  • Develop and maintain an interview process that is comprehensive and speaks to all the great things about working at Zovio, while being realistic about the expectations of the position and the day-to-day responsibilities of the position. Implement solutions s that clearly depict a day in the life of an enrollment team member

  • Enhance the Zovio organizational brand both internally and externally

Preferred Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience, 2+ years at a leader-level or in talent assessment

  • Proven skill in selection of strong talent that has achieved success in their role(s)

  • Experience building new programs from ground up

  • Strong presentation skills; both creation and delivery

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills

  • An effective and persuasive communicator with a variety of constituents – employees, learners, partners, and senior leadership

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is preferred

Education Requirements:

If a degree or education credit minimum is required for the position, all education must be conferred by a regionally accredited or approved nationally accredited institution. All candidates must provide proof of higher education (official transcripts) upon request.
