Job Description:

Data Analysts work throughout the data Lifecyle and may be involved in large projects to small enhancements or ad hoc reports.These activities might include requirements gathering, solution design, development, quality assurance, and client/team communication/collaboration.The role will ensure high-quality and high-integrity use of data within reporting and analytics and provide an exceptional level of customer service.Additionl as includeengaging intehnildiscussions, odevis, and solution doumenttion.

Essential Job Duties:

Operational Job Duties:

  • Ensure the timely and accurate execution and delivery of Reports

  • Oversee multiple large complex projects with cross functional teams and stakeholders

  • Provide technical review, ensure adherence to standards, and continually improve performance

  • Ensure the delivery of reliable information that is trusted by the stakeholders

  • Ensure the appropriate / secure access to information

  • Responsible for report administration, design, security, and maintenance.

  • Stay abreast of innovation in the fields of BI, Data Warehouse, Data Analytics and information/knowledge delivery

Technical Job Duties:

  • Ability to transform business strategy to a technology solution utilizing BI tools

  • Develop in the tools used to convert data into business information and measures across a wide range of delivery methods (reports, dashboards, ad hoc, mobile, etc.)

  • Develop complex technical solutions, visualization and design utilizing Microsoft BI tools and/or other BI products such as but not limited to Tableau, SSRS, Power BI, etc.

  • Contribute to technical discussions impacting solutions and business intelligence technology

  • Stay current in new business intelligence technologies, as well as new opportunities to develop team knowledge base by sharing the knowledge of analysis techniques and data coding

  • Assuring the integrity of project data, including data extraction, storage, manipulation, processing and analysis.

  • Discussing data management needs or information with business stakeholders and other staff members.

  • Evaluating data from source through reporting and dissemination.

  • Working with business stakeholders to identify business needs and appropriate solutions

  • Analyze and interpret diverse requirements from multiple customers

  • Accurate ccoding of variables from original information or data and completing statistical analyses as required.

  • Analyzing data with standard statistical methods, interpreting the results, and providing written summary of data analyses.

  • Participating in ongoing decisions concerning data collections, study design, methodology, and data analysis.

  • Maintain the establishedproject prioritization process shared and accepted across all supported entities.

  • Follows abest in class project lifecycle framework and SOPs

  • Attend and/or facilitate solution assessment meetings with the appropriate business partners, data management professionals, enterprise and technical domain architects, and others as needed to determine feasible solutions options.

  • Assess level of effort based on identified business requirements, including hours and timeline.

  • Document all efforts in departmental/enterprise system of record.

  • Provide status updates to stakeholders and management

  • Assist in the development, refinement and implementation of a project lifecycle process that is efficient and focuses on shortening the time to market while increasing product quality and relevance.

  • Follow QA standards for data projects.

  • Coordinate with UAT testing to ensure customer satisfaction

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of data mining models, structures, theories, principles, and practices

  • Demonstrated expertise in data mining software packages such as SAS or R with large and complex data sets

  • Strong familiarity with data preparation, processing, classification, and forecasting

  • Working technical experience with relational database servers, including Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL

  • SQL programming skills with advanced extract-creations skills

  • Knowledge of data modeling tools such as Erwin

  • Direct experience with data management techniques

  • Hands-on database tuning and troubleshooting experience

  • Project management experience

  • Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives

  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws

  • Possess superior communications skills with all levels of senior management (verbal and written)

  • Possess superior project management, decision-making and technical design skills

  • Possess superior conceptual and analytical skills including: problem solving, operation platforms, and solutions designs

  • At least 3+ years in direct role supporting and implementing reporting analysis

  • Advanced understanding of SQL, SSAS, SSMS, SSRS, SSIS tools

  • Knowledge of statistical methodologies and techniques.

  • Willingness to adhere to all principles of confidentiality.

  • Must value operating in a collaborative and cooperative environment.

  • Ability to show initiative, good judgment, and resourcefulness.

  • Must be self-motivated and demonstrate initiative.

  • Customer-service oriented and able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment with frequently adjusted priorities.


  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred

Education Requirements:

If a degree or education credit minimum is required for the position, all education must be conferred by a regionally accredited or approved nationally accredited institution. All candidates must provide proof of higher education (official transcripts) upon request.

Physical Requirements:

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee requires dexterity in using telephone, computer keyboard, mouse and calculator while seated at a desk. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk and sit. The employee may frequently move to interact with fellow employees and/or clients. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Communication Skills: While performing Duties of the job, the employee is required to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos. The employee requires the ability to write effective and detailed correspondence and to effectively present information both in one-on-one and small group situations.

Mental Demands: While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to deal with stress associated with a fast-paced work environment and multiple priorities/tasks. The employee will be required to make judgment decisions and adapt to changing work situations, grasp and apply new ideas, communicate with various personalities at all levels and have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.

Work Environment: While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to work in an office environment, and the noise level is usually moderate to loud.
