Job Description:

Position Summary:

The Financial Services Processor position is a full-time employment opportunity. The Financial Services Processor analyzes students’ financial aid documentation to ensure accuracy/completeness, awards the appropriate funding to students, ensures the funding is disbursed accurately and/or ensures the student’s funding was appropriate when they withdraw/graduate.

Essential Job Duties:

Key Tasks

  • Review/Approve student documents based on standard operating procedures.

  • Award funding to students based on standard operating procedures.

  • Review disbursement eligibility.

  • Calculate excess funding to be sent to a student.

  • Calculate earned/unearned aid and request necessary refunds.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Specialty Knowledge & Subject Area Expertise

  • Maintain a working knowledge of Federal, State and Institutional Policies governing Title IV student aid programs.

  • Review the National Student Loan Database System (NSLDS) to determine current student eligibility.

  • Review the Common Originations and Disbursement System (COD) to determine current student eligibility.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Knowledge of federal financial aid programs and regulations.

  • Proficient computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

  • One (1) year of experience in an educational setting or finance background required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Financial Aid experience is a plus.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
