Job Description:

Job Summary

The Learning Technology Specialist I (LTS) position is a full-time employment opportunity. The LTS contributes to day-to-day functions surrounding the Learning Management System (LMS) and setting up courses for course copy and curriculum revision. The LTS troubleshoots and resolves issues within the LMS and associated integrated online classroom tools.

The LTS provides direct support to departmental and organizational projects, representing the team outwardly for process guidance and material support. The LTS shares expertise with groups across the organization for appropriate and expanded usage of technology and the LMS within their projects and departments.

What You Will Do:

Essential Job Duties:

• Maintain online curriculum shells within the LMS for course copy and revision

• Provide technical support on LMS, Waypoint, or other major technology implemented across the online classroom environment, including troubleshooting, guidance and coaching for community members on the effective use of the platforms’ tools and content

• Evaluate revised curriculum shells for adherence to quality assurance standards

• Assist with the integration of instructional technology into curriculum resources

• Conduct technical training and help to create support documentation for the curriculum team

Additional Job Duties (include but are not limited to):

• Development of skills and knowledge related to emerging technology in the education field, expansion of LTS job duties and/or related industry expertise or skillsets

What You Will Bring:


• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Education, Technology, Instructional Technology, or related subject. (Bachelor’s degree in alternate field with demonstrated technical certification or professional experience equivalence accepted)

• Must be able to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, innovative environment that demands high quality, creativity, and consistency.

• Manage and work on multiple projects concurrently with limited supervision.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Experience with online collaboration tools.

• Proficient in standard software applications (i.e., word processing, spreadsheets, email applications, web browsers).


• Experience working in an educational setting.

• Learning Management System administration experience.

• Prior experience with Web based authoring and instruction and HTML coding

• Technical writing skills/experience with the ability to write clear and accurate training documentation
